Mental health blog

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices.

Mental health is a state of mental well-being that enables people to cope with the stresses of life, realize their abilities, learn well and work well, and contribute to their community.

It is an integral component of health and well-being that underpins our individual and collective abilities to make decisions, build relationships and shape the world we live in.

Tips for improving your mental wellbeing:

  1. Relax and reduce stress.
  2. Finds ways to learn and be creative.
  3. Spend time in nature.
  4. Connect with others.
  5. Look after your physical health.
  6. Try to get enough sleep.

In the context of national efforts to strengthen mental health, it is vital to not only protect and promote the mental well-being of all, but also to address the needs of people with mental health conditions.

A great way to fight mental health struggles is joining those Erasmus+ projects where you can meet new people, see different perspectives, and learn new things.

We in SPORTSROOM encourage that and have developed projects which aim to learn how to boost and promote mental health and resilience – in yourself and in your work with children and young people.

Experiencing non-formal, creative methods for youth work, especially experiential education methods (depending on the weather, e.g. high ropes course, archery).

Practicing facilitation techniques (e.g. energizers, reflection methods, creative sessions) & creating sessions and innovative methods in youth work.
